Essence of Paradise in Watercolor
"Sensing the spirit of a place is an experience I want to convey in
my paintings. My objective is to inspire viewers to revere what Nature
has given us and ultimately preserve what is left."

After a 30 year architectural illustration
practice in the San Francisco Bay Area, Douglas now tends his garden
on Maui overlooking the Pacific. He paints, travels, conducts an occasional
watercolor workshop and plays tennis.
He leads a simple life not unlike that of an ancient Chinese poet living quietly on a mountaintop (except in this case, on the slopes of Haleakala, a dormant volcano) enjoying each moment to the fullest. |
